Whatever you choose to do in life, find your passion and you’ll win! Passion is an intense emotion, a compelling enthusiasm or desire for something.
It is the very thing that lights you up, the thing that has you jump out of bed in the morning and the thing in life that you would do no matter the pay.
Do your best to find out what you love to do and what you’re great at! Don’t force it… be curious, be diligent, try different things and search for it! Remember that you may not be great at something right off the bat… but stick with it if it feels right, and if not, move on.
Once you find out what it really is, then dig in deeper and discover all there is to know about it. Your passion may be neurology, archaeology, music, law, figure skating or golf; whatever it is, become an expert and strive to be best. As Malcolm Gladwell writes in his bestseller, Outliers, the key to achieving world-class expertise is investing 10,000 hours into your art. Obsess about it, do your best to become a linchpin, and you’ll ultimately win in life and your career. It’s no secret, as Seth Godin shared in his book, Linchpin, passionate employees that delight in their work become indispensable to great organizations.
I struggled with finding my own passion until I was given this one piece of life-changing advice; follow your heart and listen to your inner being (intuition), it will never steer you wrong.
I began to truly listen to my intuition, with a hyper focus on how I felt. Whenever I didn’t feel excited, happy, driven or wanting to jump out of bed, I moved on. Similarly, I began to surround myself with people who believed in me and who I believed in. Today, more than ever, I strive do only those things I love to do. I surround myself with people who I like and enjoy, people who see the cup half full and people who see things differently.
Passion comes when you do what you love with the people you love. Be conscious about it, do your best to find a career or life path that has meaning to you. As you continue on that path, you will notice the positive energy that you manifest has a mysterious way of getting you “into flow”, building continuous momentum for your passion!
Remembering that in life you always have a choice. If you continuously find yourself doing the things you “have to do” rather than doing the things you love to do, life will always look hard and be a struggle; furthering yourself from the energy of passion.
We all know life rarely goes according to plan and it’s not always fair – that’s okay! Following you passion is the very thing that will help you through the challenging times, the highs and lows, and the many trials and tribulations!
So follow your passion! Stop and listen to your heart; often. Listen to your intuition, do more of what makes you happy, surround yourself with great people, build strong friendships and life will be filled with passion.
So go on and find it… Your passion filled life awaits you!
