I truly believe we live in one of the best times in history! We live in an era that if you can dream it, you can do it. Humans around the globe are transforming the world around us at lightening’s speed!
From mobile supercomputing, intelligent robots and self-driving cars to neuro-technological advancements and bionic strength suits, the world around us is evolving! As such, the developments made around Tesla, the famous electric automaker continues to evolve and shock the world.
Elon Musk, aged 44, is a South African-born Canadian-American business magnate, engineer, inventor and investor. He is the founder, CEO and CTO of SpaceX; co-founder, CEO and product architect of Tesla Motors; chairman of SolarCity, co- chairman of OpenAI; co-founder of Zip2; and co-founder of PayPal. I’d say he’s a pretty accomplished, smart, yet crazy individual.
Recently, Musk unveiled a prototype of the Model 3 in Hawthorne, California, outside Los Angeles to hundreds of Tesla owners and the media.
The Model 3 will go into production in 2017 at a starting price of $35,000 US. An astounding 115,000 per-orders had already been taken on the day it was unveiled and shortly there after, number surged to 137,600. Tesla aims to reach its goal of selling 500,000 cars annually by 2020.
I love this story for so many reasons, but one reason stands out most for me! People like Elon Musk continue to inspire me to do the unthinkable, challenge the status quo, color outside the lines and venture where no one has ever been before! Today, the story of the Model 3 sounds so cool and inspiring… but 10 years ago when Musk was 34, it didn’t sound so cool. In fact, they laughed at him and told him it would never happen!
Your job is to surround yourself with people who believe in what you believe and that are truly crazy passionate about what they are doing. Forget the naysayers, in fact, know that if the naysayers are around, it’s a sign that you’re up to something big.
So if there are any naysayers left for Tesla, remember that on June 29, 2010 Tesla launched its IPO on the NASDAQ. Shares of common stock were issued to the public at a price of US$17.00 per share.
Today, that same share is worth $254.00 US. If you invested $10,000.00 US on its opening day, today, that would be worth just shy of $150,000.00 with a return on investment of 1394.12%
