Dear Roma Family,
As you all know, Roma Moulding means the world to me... From our awesome product lineups and industry-leading designs to our relentless pursuit of service excellence and most of all, YOU! The best team of humans ever assembled!
As a result of all the hard work, dedication, loyalty, patience, and determination of our team over the last decade, including up to this minute; I’m beyond excited and proud to announce that the dream of building a truly remarkable culture and a Great Place to Work has been achieved. I want to take this opportunity to share something personal with you all in hopes it inspires and encourages you to follow your dreams and ambitions!
Most of you know that the Roma team has worked really hard to get where we are today, but what you may not know is that we had our fair share of trying and even dark times along the way. Among the darkest was the Global Financial Crisis of 2009; we were hit hard and even as it dragged into 2011, we had no viable strategy to pull us out of it.
Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, “…a smooth sea never made a skilled sailor” – sometimes the best things come from the worst situations. Situations like a dismally attended 2011 trade show in Vegas where, at a dinner with friends, I was gifted the book that changed my life, introduced me to the concept of putting a premium on People, Workplace Culture, and turned everything I thought I knew about leadership on its head, "Delivering Happiness" by Tony Hsieh.
After many conversations with my father, I shared the vision of what our company could be and then shared it with the entire team at the first All Hands Meeting back on March 3, 2011. Our goal was super clear, we were going to make Roma Moulding one of the Greatest Places to Work; restart the company with a clear set of core values, build out a mission that inspired action, and excite by articulating a vision of true workplace happiness.
I ascribe to the notion that overnight success is never overnight, it’s usually more like ten years!
Whatever it is you believe in with all your heart and soul, can come true if you have the patience, determination, and focus to see it through. I also believe that whatever it is you want to achieve, you need to surround yourself with like-minded remarkable people who can help you get there. People who are willing to do the work, the ones who believe in you, the ones who will move the building three feet for you, and the people that know you have their back.
As Walt Disney once famously said, “All dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”
Thank you for believing in that dream then and now... Thank you for believing in me and in Roma as a whole... for our next awesome chapter is upon us, and it excites me tremendously!
